My Gear
"You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved."
~Ansel Adams~
The quality matters! Factors that affect quality of photos are: brightness, contrast, illumination, resolution, color discrimination, and color fidelity. ANYONE nowadays can claim to be a photographer. However, not everyone is involved and interested in learning about photography and invests in the gear that makes the best quality in today's market. I do! I love learning about the light and what it does. I can spend hours, simply playing with my set ups and then another hour or more cooking muffins and pies that coordinate nicely in this lighting. It gives me as much enjoyment as taking the photos themselves. I love studying about the artists of the past and present and Norman Rockwell is still my favorite, yet he never was a photographer. You simply can't beat the talent! Photography for me is my way of expressing myself and my imagination in colors.
I have always shot Canon. After 10 years of trials and dozens of mistakes, I recently upgraded my gear to Canon R5, because R5 is in the top of the list of hugely versatile cameras. It works well in a variety of scenarios, from landscape photography through event, portrait, and action. It has an excellent auto focus and is one of the fastest shooting cameras in the market today. I shoot with Canon and I use Canon and Sigma Art, all prime lenses. I really like the bokeh that the lenses create and are the ideal for creative and artistic applications.
