Frequently Asked Questions
I am an "open book", so you can ask me any questions you would like. Here are some samples of the questions and answers you might have. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
1.
Why should I hire a professional photographer?
The difference between a professional who studies art and a non-professional is that for the casual photographer it is harder to share their vision because they don't practice and study it every day. Hiring a photographer is a choice and I am good at what I do. I spent hours educating myself about color and light and practiced all of my knowledge on hundreds of photos I took. As a photographer, I can share with you what I "see".
2.
What is your favorite lens?
A tough question! I absolutely love my Sigma Art lenses. If I am to go on a trip and pack my backpack tight, I would definitely choose my Sigma Art 35mm F1/4 because it is so versatile and I can shoot with it inside and outside.
3.
What if my child does not cooperate/sit still or is not in a good mood on the day of the session?
Trust me, I am a parent myself and I know how kids can be. I actually like working with "wiggle worms". We can try to schedule a session around a nap time and it's okay to just give me a call and we can discuss our cancellation/reschedule options.
4.
I have the most adorable dog! Can I bring him to the session?
Absolutely! Pets are encouraged every single session.
5.
Do you give out RAW (unedited) files?
"Chefs don't serve raw pork and photographers don't serve raw files.. Because of safety."
-Photographers EDIT
6.
Do you have a studio?
Yes, I have a building for my studio! I am working on decorating it and making it more presentable for my visitors.
7.
Do you backup or otherwise secure images for protection?
I will keep your images in an online platform for you to download for two weeks, after which the images will be removed. I do ask that when you download you gallery, you back up your files on the off chance something happens.
8.
When will I receive my digital images?
You will be able to download your digital images online between 2-3 weeks after the photo shoot. I am known for a quick turnaround time, so I like to get your photos back to you ASAP.
9.
Will I also receive my images in prints?
I do not print my images. Shutterfly.com is a great option for most people.
10.
What’s your cancellation/rescheduling policy?
50% of your package price is required upfront to reserve your date. This is NON-REFUNDABLE. No exceptions. This fee covers initial communication, all planning, holding the date, and serves as a cancellation fee + 100% of any expenses involved.
Sometimes things happen and life gets on the way and I can work with you and be flexible as much as I can be. However, please also understand that a cancellation that occurs too close to the scheduled date is harder and sometimes is impossible to reschedule and this is why the charges below apply.
* If a cancellation occurred within 24 hours: the charge is 100% of Creative Fee + 100% of expenses.
